The majority of our artisan partners work in ceramic, what is known as the Ayacucho style. Many of the artisans that provide us with samples live in Lima, but fled Ayacucho during the time of terrorism that they lived in the 1980’s and 1990’s. They brought their trade and love for their art with them to Lima. Most of the pieces are religious in nature, as seen in these samples.
Christmas items are what Manos Amigas exports most, mostly nativity scenes. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colours. What is the Christmas season without a little light, the artisans that work with Manos Amigas have developed tea lights and candle holders to help in the celebration. Angels are a big part of Christmas decorating and Manos Amigas has several we want to share with you.
